Local
Attractions
Situated on the edge of the famous New Forest National Park,
the property has numerous local attractions and activities.
Apart from the vast number of outdoor pursuits the New Forest
offers (horse riding, mountain biking, and leisurely walks
along forest paths), the local area boasts nationally recognised
landmarks of historical significance. Stonehenge, Salisbury
Cathedral, and Beaulieu Abbey are all nearby, and for the
automobile enthusiast, the National Museum is yet another
attraction within 40 minutes drive.
If
you're a family looking for more of an action-packed family
day out, you can try your luck at water and jet skiing at
the New Forest Water Park, which is only 3 miles away or Paulton's
family themepark, less than 30 minutes drive. There are also
a number of popular and quiet beach resorts, depending on
your preference. A recommended coastal path is Hengistbury
Head and the award winning Bournemouth beach is also close
by for beach-lovers and surfers. If you fancy yourself as
a yachtsman, popular havens such as Lymington are just a short
drive away.
Nearby
there are historical pubs and restaurants. The Tudor Rose
and The Surma Valley (Indian cuisine) are just a couple within
easy walking distance of the proprty.
Avon
Manor provides private fishing on the banks of the Hampshire
Avon. These stretches of chalkstream are fast flowing, of
medium depth and width, and make a perfect habitat for native
brown trout and grayling. The Avon Manor beat is ideal for
one or two rods and fishing tickets are available for longer
stretches. A short walk will take you towards the Avon Valley
footpath and the plants and wildlife that inhabit the neighbouring
water meadows.
